Painting outside at Chalk Church August 2019

What a difference to last month when we had to stay inside the church barn because of the rain. Today was very hot but luckily, for those of us who chose to paint outside, there was plenty of shade from the trees.

How enjoyable to spend time painting ‘en plein air’ with members of our art group and how lucky we are to have such a beautiful spot to use in the summer. We actually lost track of the time and before we knew it, it was time to go home. Nonetheless we all had a productive and very pleasant day.

While some of us started new paintings, others used the day to finish off current projects. Some painted our surroundings and some worked from photographs. A lot can be achieved in just a few hours. What a coincidence that two of us decided to paint puffins!
