What a fun, creative day we had last Saturday! Large pictures, small pictures and all that were entered into the competition used at least 3 different mediums. We spent the day painting, gluing and spraying and at the end of the session all the artists voted for their favourite picture.
The winner was Margaret W with her entry of a tree trunk which had delicate white flowers nestled within the sinuous roots. It was created using garden twine, tissue paper, acrylic ink, granulation fluid, watercolour and acrylic paint. It was beautifully made and was the clear winner with nearly half of all the votes.
Please see all the pictures below, including those that weren’t entered but that were worked on during the day. Click on the first image and scroll along to see all the pictures individually.
Many mediums were used including watercolours, acrylics, oils, inks, pencils, pastels, charcoal, string, paper, gold powder and spray, tea, coffee, dried herbs, book pages, granulation fluid, tissues, wax, wire, pens, a doily, sparkly gems, glitter modelling paste, salt, gesso and, more unusually, lavender, nail varnish and a dead bee and spider!
Well done to all those artists that came along and entered the competition. Hopefully you will consider creating more mixed media pictures in the future?
