For our Saturday meeting on October 24th 2015, we’ll be holding our annual Open Day again. Please get painting now, so that you can have your work exhibited for our visitors to admire, either framed on the walls or in the browsers.
Perhaps these session ideas will help to inspire you……
Wednesday 8th 7-9pm – Summer Flowers
Flowers are everywhere at this time of year….so bring in your favourite ones and paint them in their prime.
If you came to Julie King’s workshop, perhaps paint like her by choosing a handful of similarly coloured flowers for a harmonious picture. Or maybe an individual study of a fuchsia or pansy in detail. If you prefer a whole border or garden then bring in photos of your chosen place.
Saturday 25th 10am-3.30pm – ‘Do your own thing’ at Chalk Church
We return to our summer venue at St Mary’s Church at Chalk. The Church itself and the pond with its ‘Monet’ bridge are the obvious subjects to paint here, but please don’t feel you have to!
Many of us have painted these before, so this time start any project for our Open Day, or bring paintings that you need to complete, or maybe one that you are stuck on and need inspiration for.
Even if it’s raining we will still meet here, as there is an indoor room with tables and chairs for us to use.
There’s plenty of free parking, toilet facilities, and tea, coffee and biscuits as usual.
Please don’t forget to bring along a stool or folding chair if you do intend to paint outside.
There is no fee for today, but any donation to the Church Fund is appreciated
Wednesday 12th 7-9pm – Afternoon Tea
Sunny summer afternoons with….scones, cream, jam, sandwiches, biscuits, a pot of tea, a bone china cup, a cake stand, napkins.
Bring in your own still life to paint in any medium….all of the above, or maybe one or two items to study.
Saturday 22nd 10am-3.30pm – ‘Do you own thing’ at Chalk Church
As in July. Finish your painting from last month, paint something new, or complete any other projects…..have you any paintings ready for our Open Day in October? Remember your stool or folding chair!
Again, no charge for today, but any donation to the Church Fund is most welcome.
