July and August Newsletter

Create a picture (any medium) in the style of a favourite artist and see who can guess who that artist is. If you have done something like this before, please bring in any examples you still have for other members to see.  Reference material will be available.

 Saturday 26th 10am-3.30pm  – PAINTING OUTDOORS – CHALK CHURCH

Outings to Chalk Church are popular, so we return to our summer venue.  There’s plenty of parking, toilet facilities, and tea, coffee and biscuits available as usual.

Don’t forget to bring along a folding chair or stool. Paint a view of the Church itself, inside or out, or the pond and bridge, but if the weather is inclement we can use the indoor area of the barn. If you want to ‘do your own thing’ come along anyway and join us. At the end of the session please show your paintings for others to see. (If you don’t finish your picture, don’t worry, we’ll be returning next month.)

There is no charge for today, but any donation to the Church Fund is appreciated.

 Wednesday 13th 7-9pm  – UNUSUAL STILL LIFE

This was an interesting evening last year. Bring along 3 objects that you wouldn’t usually think of drawing or painting…place on the swap table…then choose another object that you haven’t seen before and create a spontaneous picture in any medium.

Saturday 23rd 10am-3.30pm – CHALK CHURCH AGAIN AS IN JULY

A chance to finish last month’s painting, start a new one or ‘do your own thing’.

(There is a wedding booked for this afternoon, so please be considerate if you are asked to move…. thank you!)

Again there is no charge for today, but any donation to the Church Fund is appreciated.
